Activities in West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh focus on promoting lac host trees as a sustainable source of income for forest-dwelling communities. The TJAPSKBSK has trained nearly 2,000 youths in scientific lac cultivation and processing techniques, empowering them with valuable livelihood skills. To further strengthen the local economy, large-scale cultivation efforts are underway, with plans to plant 25,00,000 lac host trees across various districts of the state. The initiative is expected to yield promising results in the coming years, contributing significantly to rural development and ecological sustainability.
