Nano-bubble technology generated through submerged pump systems has shown remarkable potential in boosting fish production by dramatically improving dissolved oxygen levels in water. With the use of these systems, oxygen concentration rises from 6.5 ppm to an impressive 25 ppm within just 30 minutes, although it gradually returns to its original level after eight days without continued operation. Introduced in 2023, this innovative method has already begun transforming fish culture practices, with plans underway to expand its adoption even further. To support this growth, the Department of Fisheries is providing specialized training for aspiring entrepreneurs under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. Through these efforts, the initiative aims to contribute at least 20% of West Bengal’s total fish production, marking a significant step toward a more efficient and sustainable aquaculture sector.
